Yale Women's Tennis Ready for Final Weekend of Non-Conference Play

NEW HAVEN, Conn.- With the end of spring break rapidly arriving, the Yale women's tennis team is ready for the final weekend of non-conference play. The Bulldogs will face off against the University of Massachusetts and Stony Brook at home.

The Bulldogs' matchup against the Minutewomen is a rematch of day two of the Big Green Invitational, in which Yale lost 5-1. Samantha Martinelli's dominating straight set victory was the highlight of the day for the Bulldogs. She'll look to repeat that outing in an attempt to lead the Bulldogs to a revenge victory over the Minutewomen, who are coached by Juancarlos Nunez. UMass is 7-5 on the year and is hoping to heat up before the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships.

Then to wrap up non-conference play, the Bulldogs will take on Stony Brook. The Seawolves, members of the Missouri Valley Conference, are 4-4 on the year despite having several matches postponed due to weather. Stony Brook comes in hot, winning three of its last four, with each of those wins coming in 7-0 fashion. They are coached by Gary Glassman.

The ball drops at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday against the Minutewomen and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday against the Seawolves.
