NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The announcement of the All-Ivy awards brought some good news to the Yale women's tennis team, who saw two players place on the 2018 All-Ivy League teams, an honor that distinguished the best players in the conference this season. First-year Samantha Martinelli made the first team in both singles and doubles, with senior Elizabeth Zordani making up the other half of their powerful doubles duo.

Both players had excellent 2017-2018 seasons for the Bulldogs. Martinelli made her presence felt immediately in her first season with the team, making a run to the ITA Regional Championship semi-finals in her first month as a Bulldog. She racked up a 21-10 win/loss record in singles and a 15-14 win/loss record in doubles, an excellent way to kick off what should be an excellent Yale career. 14 of those wins came with Zordani, who is on the tail end of her time in New Haven. The senior was excellent for the team this year, picking up 17 wins in singles to go along with her excellent doubles performance. The two clicked immediately, playing in the No. 1 spot for the majority of the season. This is the first All-Ivy appearance for either player.
