HANOVER, NH- The Yale women's tennis team had a busy day Friday afternoon, kicking off their weekend at the Big Green Invitational with matchplay against UMass and hosts Dartmouth. The Bulldogs won seven of the eleven matches played, three against the Minutewomen and four against the Big Green.
Lauren Gillinov and Kathy Wang both won their singles matches against UMass in straightsets, while Raissa Lou and Samantha Martinelli teamed up to win their doubles match handily. Sarah Cameron was not able to register the victory, but was able to take a set off her opponent.
Against Dartmouth, the Bulldogs played seven matches and won four of them. Martinelli won in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5 in her second match of the day, though her doubles partner, Lou, fell in straights. Caroline Dunleavy and Jessie Gong both won in straights and also paired up to win their doubles match 6-4. Amy Yang fell in two sets to wrap up singles.
The Bulldogs continue play at the Big Green Invitational tomorrow.
