NEW HAVEN, Conn. - With the 2018-2019 season concluded, postseason accolades have been awarded and a trio of Yale women's tennis players have been honored with the announcement of All-Ivy teams.
Sophomore Samantha Martinelli has been named First Team All-Ivy in Singles for the second straight year after a stellar season featured her going 23-5 out of the No. 1 singles spot. Martinelli was also one of two players selected unanimously, the other being Ivy League Player of the Year Iuliia Bryzgalova. Martinelli was ranked No. 111 in the Oracle/ITA Division I Women's Rankings at the conclusion of the season.
Joining Martinelli on the First Team was fellow sophomore Caroline Dunleavy, who went 18-10 out of the No. 2 spot in her first season with the Bulldogs after transferring at the beginning of the year.
Martinelli and first-year Jessie Gong were also named to the Second Team All-Ivy for their excellent play in doubles. The pair went 17-7 as a team, ultimately finishing the season as the No. 75 ranked doubles team in the nation.
