Bulldogs Fall to No. 53 Marshall

State College, PA - The Bulldogs fell to Marshall 5-2 Saturday in Pennsylvania. Sophomore Jessica Rhee and freshman Lindsay Clark won matches for the Bulldogs in the loss.

Rhee defeated Isabell Raich 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. At No. 5 singles, Clark defeated Thaddea Lock 7-5, 6-4.

The Bulldogs lost hard fought matches at both No. 4 and No. 6 singles. Freshman Stevi Petrelli came up short against Jeanne Schwartz 1-6, 6-3, 6-1. After winning the first set 6-4, freshman Lauren Ritz lost the last two sets.

At No. 1 doubles, Kellie Schimtt and Karolina Soon, the No. 15 team in the country, edged Yale's Clark and Ritz, ranked No. 50 themselves, 9-8. Petrelli and Rhee took the victory at No. 2 doubles 8-5, but Yale dropped the doubles point.
