Elis Eclipsed by #75 UC Irvine

Irvine, CA - The women's tennis team fell 5-2 today to UC Irvine, currently ranked 75^th in the nation. Today's loss puts the Eli's record at 6-1.

In single's action, Rashmee Patil won at the number 2 spot, battling against Izabela Mijic until the last set. Patil won the first set 6-1, and then Mijic flip-flopped the game, claiming the second set 6-1. Patil clinched the point for the Bulldogs with a triumphant 6-4 in the final set.

Number 6 singles Lindsey Dashiell turned in a strong performance and defeated Jessica Broadfoot in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.

The number 3 doubles team of Reshmi Srinath and Patil defeated their opponents 8-5.

The Bulldogs continue their tour of the West Coast on Thurs., Mar. 10, when they face off against Cal State Northridge.
