No. 41 Yale Defeats Boston University 6-1

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - In its first match at home since Feb. 4, No. 41 Yale improved to 9-4 on the season with a 6-1 victory over Boston University Saturday. The victory extended Yale's home winning streak to 17 matches.

The Bulldogs swept the doubles matches in the victory. At No. 1 doubles, freshman Vicky Brook and sophomore Lindsay Clark cruised to an 8-0 victory over Francine Whu and Stefanie Nunic. Playing No. 2 doubles, senior Janet Kim and junior Jessica Rhee won 8-6 over Petra Santini and Elizabeth Corrao. Sophomore Stevi Petrelli and junior Sarah Lederhandler defeated Danielle Abraham and Cori Lefkowith 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.

Clark and Lederhandler both won in straight sets at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Clark defeated Lefkowith 6-1, 6-3. Lederhandler rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Corrao.

At No. 1 singles, Kim battled to a 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 win over Nunic. Rhee pulled out a 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 win over Whu at No. 2 singles. Playing No. 3 singles, Brook defeated Santini 7-5, 2-6, 10-7.

Yale's next match will be its Ivy League Opener at Brown next Sunday.
