West Point, NY - The Yale women's tennis team continued their third day of play at the ITA Regional hosted by West Point. The team of Olivia Nix '07 and Rashmee Patil `07 swept past two teams to advance to the next round of 16.
No. 22 seed Patil was defeated by No. 1 seed Megan Moulton-Levy of William and Mary, 6-1, 6-3. Janet Kim `09 put up a tough fight, but was ultimately defeated by No. 10 seed Laura Peterzan of Harvard, 6-0, 3-6, 6-1.
In doubles action, Christian Cutter `09 and Aimee Kim `07 were defeated in the first round by No. 4 seed Shannon Brown and Lynzee Keever of Marshall, 8-1. Nix and Patil beat Inge LaGrange and Yana Tikhonko of Marist with a stunning 8-0. The duo moved on to dominate of No. 15 ranked Anat Elazari and Jessica Long of Virginia Tech, 8-4. The duo faces off against Virginia tomorrow, Oct. 24.
