Nguyen Re-Elected Captain

New Haven, Conn. - Lilian Nguyen `09 (Austin Tex.) was re-elected captain for the Yale women's tennis team for the 2008-09 season. Nguyen, who served as captain this past season, helped lead the Bulldogs to an Ivy League Title and their first NCAA Tournament berth ever.

Nguyen was also awarded the team Special Contribution Award, awarded to a special person who has contributed much more than tennis and whose presence was vital to the spirit of the women's tennis team.

Janet Kim '09 (Palisades Park, NJ), who won Ivy League Player of the Year, was awarded with the Lisa Rosenblum Award as the team's MVP. This award is given to the player, who in the opinion of her teammates, has contributed the most to the team on the court.

Jessica Rhee `10 (Dayton, Ohio), who was elected First Team All-Ivy doubles and Second Team All-Ivy singles, was awarded with the John A. Blum Award for showing the most improvement in the opinion of the coach.
