Yale Doubles Team of Nix and Patil Earns ITA Regional Ranking
Dec. 2, 2005
The Yale doubles team of Olivia Nix (Bronxville, N.Y.) and Rashmee Patil (Silsbee, Texas) earned a ranking of No. 15 for the fall of 2005 in the ITA NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Rankings, released Friday. Nix and Patil were one of only four Ivy doubles teams in the rankings.
Nix and Patil won five of nine matches in the fall, including two victories at the ITA East Regional (over Inge Le-Grange and Yana Tikhonko of Marist and Anat Elazari and Jessica Long of Virginia Tech) that earned the pair a spot in the round of 16 at that event. They also beat Syracuse's Katie Bramante and Wei-Ming Leong at the Yale Invitational, Duke's Lauren Archer and Parker Goyer at the Maryland Invitational and Brown's Kelley Kirkpatrick and Ashley Pariser at the Brown Classic.
Yale resumes play Feb. 1, 2006 against Quinnipiac at Cullman Courts.
