Duncan and Grace Both Qualify for ECAC Finals
Bulldogs Compete on First Day of ECAC Championships
BOSTON - The Bulldogs qualified all of their individual runners on the first day of indoor ECAC Championships, held at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston. The meet features athletes from Division I schools in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions who have qualified by making certain performance standards.
Senior Claudia Duncan placed third in the 500-meter dash preliminaries, qualifying finals. All of the qualifiers finished within less than two seconds of each other, making it a tight race. Yet Duncan's time of in 1:14.31 was only a second off her personal best and the school record for Yale. Junior Kate Grace also qualified for the 800-meter run finals with fifth-place finish in 2:09.23.
The 4x800-meter relay team of Duncan, senior Stephanie Reaves and freshmen Annelies Gamble and Caitlin Hudson competed as well, finishing in 9:19.53.
In addition to Duncan and Grace running in finals on Sunday, senior Alex Cadicamo, who is seeded sixth in the 3,000-meter run, and the distance medley relay will also compete. The meet kicks off with the heptathlon 55-meter hurdles at 11:00 a.m. and ends with the finals of the 4x400-meter relay at 2:45 p.m. A complete schedule can be found here.
