Yale Competes in Northridge Invitational

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Five members of the Yale women's track and field team competed at the Calfornia State Univeresity at Northridge on Saturday. A Bulldog 4x100-meter relay team placed second of five teams that finished the race, and was second only to an unattached team of professional runners. Additionally, junior Antonia Renker competed in the hammer throw.

The team comprised senior Emily Shulan, senior Alexa Monti, junior Adele Jackson-Gibson and senior Marieme Mbaye. They turned in a time of 49.40, which was just a lean in front of Cornell's 49.75. Pepperdine University of California finished in 51.97 and Moorpark University was fifth in 54.17. A Unversity of Southern California team did not finish the race, and a second troupe of Cornell runners was disqualified.
