Wilson Competes in Shot Put

PRINCETON, N.J.—This Sunday five members of the Yale women's track and field team competed in the final day of the Outdoor ECAC Championships, held in Princeton, N.J.

A Yale team advanced to the final round of competition in the 4x800-meter relay after running the eighth-fastest time in the school's history on Saturday. On Sunday, junior Kira Garry, sophomore Shannon McDonnell, freshman Frances Schmiede and freshman Emily Waligurski surpassed their previous time to place fifth overall. The squad posted a collective mark of 8:53.04—the sixth-fastest time ever achieved by a Yale team.

Sophomore Karleh Wilson also made the trip. She took to the field to compete in her best event, the shot put. Her mark of 13.67m (44-10.25) was good for 12th place.

As a team, Yale placed 50th overall (4 pts).
