PRINCETON, N.J.-This past Sunday, four members of the Yale women's track and field team competed in the 4x800-meter relay race at the 2014 Outdoor ECAC Championships. The group took fifth place overall—overcoming 19 other teams. As one of the top-eight finishers in the race, they earn All-East Honors.

Junior Kira Garry, sophomore Shannon McDonnell, freshman Frances Schmiede and freshman Emily Waligurski represented their team in the race. The ECAC Championships only marked the second time Yale has competed in a relay of this distance this outdoor season. The first was at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships a week prior, where the same four runners performed.

The squad's time of 8:53.04 will go down in Yale's record books as the sixth-fastest ever achieved.
