Five Elis Post ECAC-Qualifying Times in Loss to Cornell

Five members of the women's track team earned ECAC-qualifying times in their loss to Cornell at Coxe Cage on Saturday. Lisa Wygant, Joslyn Woodard, Vanessa Mazandi, Rebecca Dickens, and Dionna Thomas all posted qualifying scores. The Bulldogs were defeated by the Big Red, 95-50.
Wygant's jump of 1.70 meters earned her the qualifying score and second place to Cornell's Jessica Brown. In the triple jump, Thomas reached a distance of 39 feet, 7 3/4 inches for the win in her event.
In the track events, Woodard's time of 7.20 in the 55 meter dash was good for a qualifyig time and first place. Teammate Katrina Castille ran a 7.23 to place second behind Woodard. Vanessa Mazandi ran the 800-meter run in 2:12.55 and was followed by Katie Greene, who finished in 2:14.96.
Woodard also won the long jump event with a distance of 5.62 meters and finished second in the 200-meter dash.
Rebecca Dickens posted a second place finish in the 1000-meter run with her time of 2:53.38, while Cornell's Natalie Gingerich won the event.
Other top finishers for the Bulldogs included Molly Lederman, who won the pole vault with a height of 3.90 meters, and Alex Sawicki, whose time of 10:08.59 earned her second place in the 3000-meter run.
