IRVINE, Calif. - Yale concluded its spring break trip to California by competing in UC Irvine's Collegiate Classic Saturday afternoon. Lindsay Donaldson took first in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:28.12, while Katrina Castille's 12.17 in the 100-meter dash was the fastest time of the day in that event.
Elizaebeth Calle finished second in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:10.17, trailing only Cornell's Robyn Ellerbrock (10:43.90). Bevin Peters was fourth (11:21.86).
Ashley Nolet tied for fourth in the pole vault (3.20m) and Ola Awolesi finished fifth in the triple jump (11.61m) to highlight Yale's other top-five finishes. Erica Davis, just weeks removed from basketball season, competed in the discus (second, 47.14m), shot put (third, 13.50m) and hammer throw (seventh, 44.50m).
Castille also had the fastest time in her section of the 200-meter dash at 25.30. Meredith Leenhouts claimed first in her section of the 1500-meter run at 4:40.75.
Yale is at the Southern Connecticut State Invitational next Saturday.
