NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Yale volleyball
team relocated its morning practice on Friday from the friendly
confines of the John J. Lee Amphitheater to scenic Hammonasset
Beach in Madison, Conn. The defending Ivy League Champions hit the
sand at Meig’s Point with the crew of the Fox 61 Morning News
as a part of the “Zip Trip” segment, which highlights
Connecticut-based attractions. Head Coach Erin Appleman and members
of the Yale team fielded questions from anchor Jeff Valin, while
host Logan Byrnes took a few practice swings with the team.
“This was a great way to showcase our team entering this
season,” said Appleman. “It was an honor for Fox 61 to
recognize us as a part of the Connecticut landscape, and hopefully
we earned some new fans this morning.”
Four videos highlighting the Bulldogs’ appearance are
available on the Fox 61 Morning News
website.
Yale opens the 2009 season on Friday, Sept. 4 at home against
