Earned All Tournament Honors At Yale Invitational
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshman setter Kendall Polan (Cardiff, Calif.), who helped the Bulldogs to the Yale Invitational title, was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week. Polan earned all-tournament recognition after totaling 98 assists in three victories. She added 17 digs and three service aces.
In the 3-0 win over Rhode Island that clinched the Invitational title, Polan had 47 assists, six digs and five kills. Against Stony Brook, she contributed 41 assists and 12 digs.
Polan brings strong credentials to New Haven. She helped La Costa Canyon High school to three CIF Division I titles and played for the nationally prominent Encinitas Wave club program.
In addition, Yale junior Bridget Hearst (Pacific Pallisades, Calif.) was selected to the Ivy League Honor Roll. She was named the most valuable player of the Yale Invitational after notching 46 kills with only eight errors (.404 percentage) in the three wins.
The Bulldogs are back in action this weekend when they travel to Long Island's Tournament. Yale plays NJIT, Georgetown and Long Island.
