Ozurovich Sets All-Time Digs Mark at Yale
Yale's Senior Captain Has 1,414 Digs in Her Career
Last Saturday, Kelly Ozurovich (Playa del Rey, Calif.) made history in Fullerton, Calif. The Yale women's volleyball senior captain became the all-time digs leader in program history.
The historic moment came in Yale's match against West Virginia at the Fullerton Classic. Ozurovich surpassed Anja Perlebach, who played at Yale from 2003-06.
"Kelly has been a vital part of our success over the past 3 years and I'm thrilled to see her hard work has paid off," Yale head coach Erin Appleman said.
Entering the season, Ozurovich was fifth all-time in digs at Yale, but quickly moved up the statistical ladder. On Saturday, Ozurovich passed Perlebach's previous all-time mark of 1,380 digs and finished the day 1,414 in her career.
Ozurovich has 173 digs in 30 sets this season. She ranks second in the Ivy League and fifth in NCAA Division I with 5.77 digs per set in 2010.
The Bulldogs (5-4) return to action this Friday with a home match against Albany. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. at the Lee Amphitheater.
