Polan Earns Fifth Ivy League Rookie Of Week Selection

Helped Bulldogs Sweep Columbia And Cornell In Final Regular Season Weekend

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Kendall Polan (Cardiff, Calif.), who combined for a team-best 55 assists and 41 digs in Yale's weekend sweep of Columbia and Cornell, has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the fifth time this season. The two victories helped the Bulldogs finish the regular season with a 12-2 Ivy League record and a share of the Ivy title. Yale and Penn will play on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the John J. Lee Amphitheater. The winner gets the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Polan just missed a triple-double with 27 assists, 18 digs, nine kills and block assist in Yale's 3-0 victory over Cornell last Saturday. One day earlier, she posted a match-best 23 digs and 28 digs, as well as four kills and a block assist in a sweep of Columbia in New York.

For the week, Polan averaged 9.17 assists, 2.17 kills and 6.83 digs per set. She enters the week ranked fourth in the Ivy League with 9.20 assists per set.  Polan also is in the top-10 in the Ivy League in hitting percentage and digs. In addition, her 41 digs last weekend helped Yale maintain the top spot in the nation in digs per set with 19.40.
