Rogers Named Ivy League Rookie Of Week
Posted Double-Doubles Against Maryland, Delaware
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshman outside hitter Mollie Rogers (San Diego, Calif.), who posted double-doubles in Yale's matches with Maryland and Delaware, was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Monday.
Rogers, who was selected to the all-tournament team at the Terrapin Invitational, had 22 kills, hit .340 and added 12 digs in an intense five-set loss to Maryland. The next morning, she posted 14 kills and 11 digs in a 3-1 win over Delaware. Later in the afternoon, Rogers had seven kills and 11 digs in a loss to Sacred Heart.
Through Yale's first six matches, Rogers leads the Bulldogs with 77 kills and has been named to all-tournament teams of both tournaments the Bulldogs have participated in so far this season.
Rogers and her teammates are back home this weekend when they host the Yale Classic. The Bulldogs face New Hampshire on Friday at 7 p.m., Quinnipiac Saturday at 1 p.m. and Army on Saturday at 7 p.m.
