Frappier Named Ivy League Rookie Of The Week
Helped Yale To Sweep Of Penn, Princeton
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Allie Frappier, who banged out 31 kills in Yale's weekend sweep of Penn and Princeton, has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week. In addition, Erica Reetz and Haley Wessels were named to the Honor Roll.
Frappier posted double-doubles in kills and digs in both victories. In the win against Princeton, she stuck for kills on consecutive points to give the Bulldogs a 22-19 lead in the second set as the Bulldogs eventually tied the match at one game each. She finished with a team-high 19 kills. Against Penn the night before, Frappier delivered a clutch kill to tie the first set at 19 and later gave Yale a 23-20 lead as the Bulldogs grabbed the first set.
She now ranks eighth in the Ivy League in kills per set with a 3.03 average and stands second on the team. Frappier is fifth on the team with a 2.76 digs per set average.
Frappier is the second Yale player to earn rookie of the week honors this season. Mollie Rogers has been honored three times.
The two wins over the weekend earned the Bulldogs at least a share of the Ivy League title. Yale can clinch the outright crown with a victory at Harvard on Friday or at Dartmouth on Saturday.
