Johnson Hits .520 Last Weekend in Wins Over Harvard and Dartmouth
NEW HAVEN -- Yale freshman Kelly Johnson earned her fifth Ivy League Rookie of the Week honor of the season on Tuesday.
Johnson helped the Bulldogs complete a perfect Ivy League season after a sweep of Harvard and Dartmouth last weekend. The Palos Verdes, Calif., native hit .520 for the weekend with 14 kills and 28 assists in six sets of action.
She had just one error in 25 attacks and also added 12 digs and four blocks.
Johnson finished her rookie season among the Ivy League leaders in points per set (7th, 3.27), kills per set (8th, 2.85) and assists per set (9th, 5.41).
The Bulldogs finished 18-5 overall and 14-0 in league play. Next up, Yale will make its fourth NCAA tournament appearance.
