Bulldogs Rise to 49th in Nationally Recognized Rating System
Yale Faces No. 1 Penn State This Weekend
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Bulldogs have elevated to No. 49 in the Pablo Rankings, a national volleyball power rating system published by RichKern.com. The ranking is Yale's highest national rating since reaching an NCAA RPI of 30 at the end of the 2008 season.
The Bulldogs were ranked 74th last week in the Pablo, but went 2-1 in a tournament at the Pentagon. The weekend included a hard-fought loss to No. 8 Stanford and victories over Army and Air Force.
Yale, now 4-2 on the season, is in the midst of a challenging non-conference schedule that has included Stanford, Missouri and defending Patriot League champs, Colgate. Another stiff test awaits this weekend as the Bulldogs play at No. 1-ranked Penn State on Saturday at 8 p.m.
While at the Penn State, Yale will also face Eastern Kentucky and Albany. The first match is Friday at 4:30 p.m. against Eastern Kentucky.
