Yale Recognized During First Intermission
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The recognition keeps coming for the Yale volleyball team.
The four-time defending Ivy League champion Bulldogs were honored at the Yale men's ice hockey game on Saturday night at Ingalls Rink. The volleyball team was recognized during the first intermission of last Saturday's game between defending national champion and No. 13-ranked Yale and No. 18 Colgate.
The Bulldogs completed the Ivy League season with a 13-1 record and finished the conference season with a four-match lead in the standings. Yale earned its third straight NCAA Tournament berth and ended the season with a 20-5 overall mark.
Yale wrapped up the season ranked 45th in the final NCAA Women's Volleyball National RPI rankings. The ranking marked the highest finish for the Bulldogs since 2008, when they completed the season 30th overall.
Individually, Yale team captain Kendall Polan became the first three-time Ivy League Volleyball Player of the Year award winner in conference history and joined four other Bulldogs to earn All-Ivy honors.
