Crawford and Steinberg Provide Double-Doubles in Victory

Hanover, N.H. -- After a tough five-set loss last night, the Bulldogs bounced back in another match that went the distance.

Brittani Steinberg had 22 kills -- including six in the fifth -- in her final Ivy League match to lead the Bulldogs to their 11th win of the conference season.  Steinberg also had 17 digs.

Kelsey Crawford (48 assists and 16 digs) set up Tristin Kott to close out the match.  Earlier in the set, Kott snapped an 11-all tie and had 11 kills for the match.

After winning the first two sets, the Bulldogs dropped the next two to force a fifth.

The scores of the match were 25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 13-25 and 15-13.

In the first set, the Bulldogs used a 7-3 run to pull away.  Kelley Wirth, Kelsey Crawford and Kate Atkinhead had kills during the stretch to give Yale a 20-13 lead.

Two kills from Brittani Steinberg and one from Shreya Dixit pushed Yale's lead to 23-15.

In the second set, Yale used a 16-6 run, capped by an ace from Kate Swanson, to take a 23-18 lead.  Swanson led the Bulldogs with 24 digs.

The third set slipped away from the Bulldogs.  Steinberg smashed a kill to give the Bulldogs a 23-22 lead before the Big Green scored the next three points.

The Bulldogs finish up the 2016 schedule on Nov. 22 with a home match against Hartford.
