NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Yale first-year libero Yurika Boyd was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Boyd stepped into the Yale lineup last Friday against Brown and produced the fifth highest total for digs in a four-set Ivy match this season. Boyd had a career-high 27 digs in a 3-1 win over Brown.
"Yurika was fantastic on defense," Yale head coach Erin Appleman said. "Her overall game was terrific."
The selection marked the third time this season a Bulldog had earned rookie of the week honors. Boyd's classmate Kathryn Attar has won the award twice in 2017.
The Bulldogs return to action this weekend with road matches at Princeton and Penn.
