Fast Start Paces the Bulldogs Past Penn

PHILADELPHIA -- The Bulldogs hit. 323 in the first set without a hitting error en route to a 3-0 sweep of Penn at the Palestra on Friday evening.  

The scores of the match were 25-10, 25-19 and 25-18.  With the win, Bulldogs improved to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in league play.

Fresh off her second Ivy League Rookie of the Week award, Ellis DeJardin led the Bulldogs with 10 kills and added eight digs while hitting .333.  Kathryn Attar had nine kills and eight digs.

After taking the first set, the Bulldogs hit .361 with 17 kills in the second set. Samantha Bray had eight kills and hit .538 with four blocks.

Up next, the Bulldogs travel to Princeton for a match tomorrow at 5 p.m.  It will mark the first time the teams have played since playoff last season to determine the Ivy League's bid to the NCAA Tournament.
