NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Bulldogs picked up a key road win at Columbia on Friday night and kept pace in the Ivy League standings.
The scores of the match were 25-23, 25-21 and 25-18. With the win, Yale improved to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in Ivy League play. The Lions fell to 2-2 in league play.
Frances Arnautou dished out 32 assists and added 10 digs with two service aces. Ellis DeJardin, a two-time Ivy Rookie of the Week winner this season, led the way with 11 kills, while Tristin Kott added nine kills on 20 swings without an error.
Kelley Wirth tied the first set at 23-23 and the Bulldogs followed to force consecutive attack errors to take the first set. In the next set, Yale led 12-10 and netted 10 of the next 15 points to pull away, with the run capped by block assists from Arnautou and Samantha Bray.
Kott had five kills and two block assists in the final set, abd the Bulldogs hit .306 in the third to close out the match.
Yale returns to action tomorrow at Cornell for a 5 p.m. start.
