NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- First-year outside hitter Ellis DeJardin was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the third time this season, the league office announced on Monday.
"Ellis played amazing this weekend," Yale head coach Erin Appleman said. "She passed and played great defense and her offense was unstoppable."
DeJardin smashed a team-high 12 kills in a sweep of Dartmouth on Friday, and then followed up the next day with 14 digs and a season-high 17 kills in a win over Harvard. The San Gabriel, Calif., native leads the team and a ranks fifth in the Ivy League in kills per set at the midway point of the conference season.
The Bulldogs enter the week 6-1 in league play and tied for first with Princeton. Up next for Yale is a home match with Brown on Saturday at 5 p.m.
