Bulldogs Host Rival at The Course at Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's cross country team will prepare to host Harvard on Friday at The Course at Yale in the annual showdown between the two rivals. Last year, Yale bested Harvard but fell to Princeton in a race that included the Tigers. 2011 marked the first time since 2006 that the Bulldogs had bested the Cantabs; the 36-71 margin was convincing. Each of Yale's top seven runners from that victory will return to race on Friday, including junior Liana Epstein, who placed second overall. By contrast, Harvard's fastest returning scorer placed 14th last year.

The Bulldogs are coming off their first-place finish and near-sweep of the Fordham Fiasco last weekend. By claiming eight of the top 11 places, they compiled only 17 points to cement the victory. Junior Millie Chapman repeated as the Fordham Fiasco individual champion, mirroring her finish in 2011. Harvard also placed first at its contest last Saturday while claiming the individual title.

Yale is currently ranked sixth in the Northeast region, while Harvard is further down the list at 11th. Both teams will look to defend their undefeated records on Friday at 5:45 p.m. Princeton usually joins the tri-meet, but is not competing this weekend. Results will be available on
