Bulldogs Compete at New England Championships
Oct. 6, 2007
BOSTON - The Yale women's cross country team competed Saturday afternoon at the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston. Three women competed for the Bulldogs, and thus Yale was not able to score as a team, which requires five runners. Quinnipiac won the meet, scoring 72 points.
Junior Kathryn Schleckser was the first of the Bulldogs to finish, completing the 5,000-meter course in 19:19, finishing 44th. Sophomore Alexandra Cadicamo was next for the Bulldogs, finishing 140th in 20:26. Cadicamo was followed closely by junior Claire Leatherwood, who was 150th in 20:32.
After a strong effort at the University of Maine in the Murray Keatinge Invitational, the women that competed (senior Lindsay Donaldson, junior Bevin Peters, sophomore Stephanie Pearl, senior Ingrid Sproll and junior Kelli Buck) opted to train through this week in preparation for NCAA Pre-Nationals, which will be on October 13th in Terre Haute, Ind. A strong performance in Indiana could reward the Bulldogs with an at-large bid to the NCAA championships.
