Women's Cross Country Opens Season at Fairfield

Sept. 12, 2008

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's cross country team will begin the 2008 season at the Fairfield Invitational, hosted by the Stags of Fairfield University. The meet, with it's proximity to New Haven and the limited entry list, will provide the veteran Bulldogs with an opportunity to get back into the competative mode after four months without racing, and the freshmen and newcomers a first taste of NCAA cross country competition.

The 5,000-meter women's race will take place at 10:30 a.m. and will feature Fairfield, Fordham, Sacred Heart, Bryant, Rhode Island, Southern Connecticut State, New Haven University and, of course, Yale.

Results will be posted on www.FairfieldStags.com at the conclusion of the men's race, which is slated to begin at 11:15 a.m.
