Morgan Ross, who helped lead Maryland to NCAA Tournament appearances twice in three years as a volunteer assistant, joined the Yale gymnastics staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2021.Â
Maryland made NCAA appearances in 2019 and 2021 with Ross’ help. In 2021 the Terps advanced to the second day of competition at Regionals with a thrilling 195.525-195.475 win over Eastern Michigan. Additionally, Maryland’s vault team ranked in the top 25 in the NCAA for each of her last three seasons there. She worked with the team while pursuing her master’s degree in marine estuarine environmental sciences, which she received from Maryland in 2021.Â

Ross is a native of Reno, Nev., and attended Flips USA Gymnastics. She graduated with honors from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a B.S. in environmental science and a B.A. in languages (Spanish) in 2018. She competed in all-around for the UAA gymnastics team and was team captain in 2016-17.

Ross earned multiple MPSF All-Academic Team honors with the Seawolves and was second team MPSF all-conference in all-around, floor and vault in 2017. She is a graduate of Reno High School.
