Fall Academic All-Ivy Announced

10 Bulldogs Honored

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Ivy League recently announced its fall Academic All-Ivy selections and 10 Bulldogs were honored. All were starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team with 3.0 or better cumulative grade point averages. Each Ivy institution nominated five men and five women from its eligible student-athletes.

Here are Yale's selections:

Jason Alessi, Jr., Football, Political Science (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.)
Second-team All-Ivy; named All-New England as a punt returner; selected as team MVP; starting defensive back.

Geneva Decker, Sr., Soccer, Political Science (La Jolla, Calif.)
Started 11 of the 15 games she played in; scored the game-winning goal against Columbia.

Henry Flugstad-Clarke, Sr., Soccer, History (Morristown, N.J.)
Second-team All-Ivy; led team with four goals; only player to start all 16 games; played 1,481 of a possible 1,528 minutes.

Emilie Katz, Sr., Field Hockey, Political Science (Newton, Mass.)
Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year; first-team All-Ivy; first-team All-Mideast Region.

Archie Kinnane, Jr., Soccer, Astrophysics (Atlanta)
Started 13 of 15 games he appeared in; elected team captain for 2017-2018; has played in 45 games in his career.

Colleen McCormack, Sr., Soccer, Electrical Engineering/Computer Science (Jericho, N.Y.)
Started all 16 games on defense and selected as the team's most improved player; team captain.

Marty Moesta, Sr., Football, Applied Mathematics (Grosse Pointe, Mich.)
Honorable mention All-Ivy; selected as team's defensive line MVP.

James Randon, Sr., Cross Country, History (New Canaan, Conn.)
Ivy League individual champion; NCAA Championship qualifier for first time in career; fifth-place finisher at NCAA Regionals.

Frances Schmiede, Sr., Cross Country, Political Science (Pymble, Australia)
Two-time first-team All-Ivy; finished seventh at Heptagonal Championship; helped Bulldogs qualify for NCAA Championship; team captain.

Brittani Steinberg, Sr., Volleyball, Psychology (Glenview, Ill.)
First-team All-Ivy; led the Ivy League in service aces per set and led the team in kills per set.
