Five different players lit the lamp and goalie Justin Mrazek stopped 23 shots as the Union men's hockey team skated past Yale 5-2 before 3,028 at Ingalls Rink.
A.J. Palkovich, Jordan Webb and Jonathan Poirier each had a goal and an assist for the Dutchmen (7-5, 6-0), who remain undefeated in ECACHL play during their best start ever as a Division I program. Union tallied three times in nine attempts with the man advantage, including an empty-net score with 16 seconds left, to keep Yale winless this season.
The Bulldogs could not convert five power-play chances but got shorthanded scores from Zach Mayer - his first goal of the year -- and Christian Jensen. Mayer's goal, assisted by defenseman Shawn Mole, tied the game briefly early in the second period. Jensen, who leads the Elis (0-8, 0-6) with three goals, scored late in the same frame and was unassisted.
The visitors outshot the home squad 32-25 and put 11 shots on net in each of the last two periods. Yale netminder Josh Gartner made 27 saves.
