Box Score Ketchum Scores Yale Goal
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac goalie Victoria
Vigilanti stopped 23 of 24 Yale shots Saturday afternoon at Ingalls
Rink, leading the Bobcats to a 2-1 win over the Bulldogs. Junior
forward Bray Ketchum scored Yale's lone goal.
Yale (0-4-1, 0-4-4 ECAC Hockey) had a 7-4 edge in shots in the
first period but could not get any past Vigilanti. Quinnipiac
(5-3-2, 3-0-1 ECAC Hockey) then broke on top at 5:14 of the second
on a goal by Janine Duffy. The Bobcats extended the lead less than
a minute before the second intermission on a goal by Bethany
Dymarczyk.
Freshman defenseman Tara Tomimoto got Yale's offense going on a
power play early in the third by putting a shot on net that was
saved but came loose in front of the net. Senior forward Berit
Johnson got it to Ketchum to pull Yale within one. It was
Tomimoto's first career point.
That was the end of the scoring, however. The Bulldogs called
timeout and pulled junior goalie Jackee Snikeris (19 saves) for an
extra skater with 1:22 to play but could not get the equalizer.
Yale travels to RPI and Union next weekend.
