CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After Friday's quarterfinal win against Dartmouth, the No. 2 Yale Bulldogs defeated No. 3 Princeton by a 7-2 score to advance to the finals of the CSA National Tournament. The Bulldogs will take on No. 1 Trinity on Sunday at 12p.m. for the championship.
The Bulldogs swept positions No. 3 through No. 9 for the win, after facing tough losses at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Sophomore Hywel Robinson lost to Princeton's Todd Harrity, who is currently the top ranked college squash power. Senior captain Naishadh Lalwani also faced tough competition against No. 4 David Letourneau. Lalwani took his match to five games, fighting back to win two consecutive games after dropping the first two.
At No. 3, sophomore Kenneth Chan won his match in five games, overcoming a deficit in the first game for the win.
Yale has competed against Trinity during the regular season, and fell by a 7-2 margin. The Bulldogs will look for revenge on Sunday and try to end Trinity's winning streak that has stretched over the past decade.
