Alex Lyon, a sophomore goalie from Baudette, Minnesota, has the men's hockey team off to a hot start. He earned MVP honors at the Liberty Hockey Invitational this past weekend for stopping 67 of 70 shots. Lyon is this week's Total Mortgage Spotlight Athlete of the Week. 

Lyon didn't waste any time getting settled in as the Bulldogs' goalie, saving 796 shots on goal during his freshman season. He ranked 18th in Division 1 in goals against and was ranked 25th in save percentage. His .918 save percentage is ranked sixth in Yale history. Lyon was named Ivy League co-Rookie of the Year for his record-breaking freshman season. 

Off the ice, Lyon worked at the The Course at Yale this past summer. He has volunteered for community service activities while playing for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL, and is also a member of the National Honor Society Member. 

Come check out Lyon in goal this weekend as Yale faces off against Clarkson and St. Lawrence in their first two home games of the season. The puck will drop at 7:00 pm on both Friday and Saturday at Ingalls Rink.
