No. 3 Yale Rebounds in Win Over No. 7 Cornell

ITHACA, N.Y. — After suffering their first loss of the season against No. 6 Columbia, the Bulldogs came back strong to earn a 7-2 win against No. 7 Cornell in Ithaca on Sunday.

Cornell (4-2, 1-2 Ivy) was the second tough conference opponent the Yale (3-1, 1-1 Ivy) faced in as many days. Although the Bulldogs had dropped their opener Saturday, they recovered to split their New York road trip with their first Ivy League win.

Although the hosts snagged victories at Nos. 1 and 7, Yale took the other seven matches in decisive fashion, with three 3-1 wins and four 3-0 sweeps.

The performance should give the Bulldogs some confidence ahead of a week in which they will face two top-five teams. On Saturday, Yale hosts No. 4 Rochester at 1:00 p.m before a noon matchup against No. 1 St. Lawrence on Sunday. Both of these big matches will be held at the Brady Squash Center.
