NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Yale got off to a great start in its series of tough matches this weekend as it topped No. 4 Rochester in a 6-3 battle at the Brady Squash Center.
The match was a culmination of the Bulldogs' hard work as the entire team contributed to overcome top-tier competition. Freshmen Thomas Kingshott and Max Martin, among others, dispatched their opponents to build a 4-2 lead in Yale's favor. With the final three matches ongoing, Yale captain Joseph Roberts came through to seal the victory for the Bulldogs.
The win will give the team confidence heading into Sunday's matchup with top-ranked St. Lawrence, who have yet to lose a match this season. After today's performance, however, the Bulldogs feel they are up to the challenge.
