HARTFORD, Conn. — No. 5 Yale ended its season on Sunday with a 6-3 loss to No. 6 Rochester that placed the Bulldogs sixth in the nation. The defeat was a reversal of the regular season meeting between the two teams, in which Yale won by the same score.
The match was competitive throughout, with only two matches ending in the minimum three games, but Rochester got the better of the Bulldogs in several of the close contests.
One bright spot came from the performance of the freshman class, as Edward Columbia, Max Martin and Pierson Broadwater garnered all three of Yale's wins.
While Yale's team season concluded today, several Bulldogs will compete next weekend at the CSA Individual Championships. That tournament will begin on Feb. 27 in Princeton, N.J.
