NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The men of Yale squash asserted their position in the Ivy League with a 7-2 victory over No. 5 Columbia on Sunday at the Brady Squash Center. 

With the win, the Bulldogs (4-0, 3-0 Ivy) leave the weekend as the only remaining undefeated team in the Ivy League. Although Yale dropped matches in the top two spots, the squad's depth carried the Bulldogs to victory in a closely fought contest. 

The middle of lineup featured much of the action. Junior Kah Wah Cheong joined sophomores Thomas Kingshott and Pierson Broadwater in winning in four sets. Meanwhile, at No. 6, sophomore Max Martin took three straight sets to claim victory as he rallied from a 2-0 deficit. 

Sunday's successful outing puts Yale in commanding position after the first stretch of Ivy competition, but many challenges remain for the Bulldogs in conference play. First, however, the team faces a slate of non-league games that begins next weekend with two tough matcups against top-tier opposition — No. 3 St. Lawrence on Saturday and No. 4 Rochester on Sunday.
