Madeleine Hamilton Achieves Victory at No. 1 Singles
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - No. 69 Yale was defeated by rival No. 58 Harvard 6-1 on Friday afternoon at Yale's home courts. Despite Harvard's victory, junior Sherry Li and sophomore Valerie Shklover were victorious at No. 3 doubles, and senior Madeleine Hamilton won in straight sets at No. 1 singles.
Li and Shklover teamed up for the second time this season, winning their match 6-3. Hamilton comfortably won against June Lee 6-4, 6-4 to add a point in Yale's favor. Senior Courtney Amos and freshman Amy Yang both split sets with their respective opponents, forcing their matches into super tiebreaks. After losing the first set 6-4 to Sabrina Xiong, Amos came back to win the second 7-5. Xiong ultimately came out on top after winning the super tiebreak 10-6 for a final score of 6-4, 5-7, 10-6. Yang claimed the first set 7-5 against Amy He, but He forced the match to a tiebreak after winning the second 6-2. In a tightly contested tie break, only 2 points separated Yang and He, as He won the match 5-7, 6-2, 10-8.

The Bulldogs will look to rebound from Friday's loss in their match against the Big Green on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. Yale's match against Dartmouth will be the penultimate match of the year.
