Box Score Bulldogs Look to Continue Streak
AMHERST, Mass. - The Yale Men's Hockey Team, which earned a No. 18 spot in this week's uscho.com national poll, is on a six-game unbeaten streak with a big road test Tuesday, the last game before the exam and holiday break. The Bulldogs (7-2-2, 6-2-1 ECAC) and No. 2 UMass (13-2, 7-0 HE) have a 7 p.m skate at Amherst. The game at the Mullins Center airs live on Eleven Sports and NESNplus.
LAST WEEK AT HOME
Yale, for the second straight weekend, snatched four conference points with a sweep. This time it was RPI (4-2) and Union (3-0) as the Bulldogs (16th in the Pairwise) moved atop the ECAC standings, a point ahead of Quinnipiac. First-year forward Justin Pearson had 2-1-3 against the Engineers and Corbin Kaczperski (14 saves) got the win in net. The next night, senior Joe Snively notched 2-1-3 and Sam Tucker stopped all 26 shots the win over No. 11 Union.
SERIES
The Elis have won 16 of the 23 games with UMass including the last four. Yale is 4-3 against the Minutemen at Amherst.
LAST MEETINGS
Yale beat UMass 5-3 last January at New Haven as Joe Snively had 2-1-3 and Corbin Kaczperski made 22 saves. Oliver Chau had two points for the visitors while Matt Murray made 33 saves.
UMASS
The Minutemen split last weekend's set with No. 8 Quinnipiac while ending a nine-game win streak. UMass has the 5th best offense in Division I and a defense ranked 8th.
