NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Clarkson won the battle of ranked teams at Ingalls Rink in ECAC Hockey action. The No. 14 Golden Knights extended their win streak to 7 games with a 4-2 win over No. 19 Yale.
The Elis (8-6-3, 6-3-1) outshot Clarkson 29-19, but the visitors jumped on early chances to erase a 1-0 deficit and pull away in the second period.
Clarkson (15-6, 6-3) got goals from four different skaters to avenge a loss at Potsdam in December.
The Bulldogs outshot the Knights 15-5 in the first but were down 2-1. After Charlie Curti set up Evan Smith for his fourth goal of the season, the visitors hit the net twice, including a power-play tally.
Kevin O'Neil evened things at 2-2 early in the second after Robbie DeMontis won a face-off, allowing his linemate to fire a shot off Jake Kielly's glove that bounced into the back of the net.
Clarkson added a pair over the last 15 minutes of the middle frame to take the two-goal lead into the third.
The Blue is back at the Whale Saturday night to host St. Lawrence in a game airing live on ESPN+.
