No. 4 Trinity Next Obstacle for Elis

State Rival On the Road

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Yale Men's Squash Team travels to No. 4 Trinity on Wednesday to compete in a 6 p.m. match.

Trinity is 8-1 on the season, suffering its only loss to No. 2 Rochester, which the Bulldogs lost to on Sunday. The Bantam's roster of 23 athletes includes six first-years, two of whom are in the top nine.

Trinity's No. 1 seed, Kush Kumar, is ranked first in the nation in men's collegiate squash. Kumar is 6-1 this season, his only loss coming against Rochester's Ashley G. Davies, whom Yale's Spencer Lovejoy nearly beat. Lovejoy, who is 5-2 on the season, is 29th in the nation.

The 6-2 Elis look to bounce back against Trinity after suffering a tough loss to Rochester.

"[Trinity] is always one of the strongest teams in the country and this year is no different," said first-year Eric Kim, who came back from an 0-2 deficit against Rochester to win his match. "I think the performance against Rochester showed that we can compete with the best teams in the country."

The Elis' match against Trinity marks the halfway-point of the season. Match results will be available live on the CSA website.
