NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's soccer team has enjoyed a very successful early non-conference season, going unbeaten in seven games. Now, the Bulldogs turn their attention to Ivy League play, which starts Friday against Harvard at Reese Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. ESPN+ has the video.
Here are notes on the matchup with the Crimson:
* Yale (5-0-2) is unbeaten through seven games for the first time since 1952. The 1952 team finished 8-1-2 and didn't suffer its first loss until the season finale.
* For the second straight week, the Bulldogs are ranked No. 28 in the College Soccer News national top-30 poll. In addition, Yale received 11 votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll, the most of any Ivy school.
* The Bulldogs have won five straight games, their longest winning streak since 2003. Yale's last six-game winning streak came over the final six games of the 1998 season.
* The Bulldogs have yielded just four goals, the fewest in the Ivy League. Yale has posted shutouts in each of its last three games.
* Yale's 16 goals scored are the second most in the league.

HISTORY LESSONS
Ten of the last 11 Yale-Harvard games have ended in a tie for been decided by one goal, including last year's 1-0 Crimson victory in Cambridge. The Bulldogs outshot Harvard 8-5 and had an 8-3 edge in corner kicks in last year's game, but Alfred Perez scored the only goal midway through the second half.
SCOUTING HARVARD
The Crimson (0-4-1) is coming off a 3-3 tie with Merrimack on Oct. 24. Two of Harvard's four losses have come to nationally ranked opponents. Alfred Perez leads the team with two goals.
