Yale Wins at Cornell to Keep Pace in Ivy Standings

Rebekah Nemeth Leads Bulldogs with 14 Kills, Hits .355

The Bulldogs earned a key road win at Cornell on Friday.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Bulldogs defeated Cornell, 3-1, on Friday evening and remained in the thick of the Ivy League race with three regular season matches left to play.

The scores of the match were 26-24, 25-23, 22-25 and 25-20. With the win, the Bulldogs seized sole possession of second place, one match behind Princeton in the standings. 

Yale travels to Columbia tomorrow for a 5 p.m. match. It marks the final road match of the season for the Bulldogs, who close out the regular season with home dates against Penn and Princeton.

There were plenty of notable performances tonight for Yale.  Frances Arnautou had 48 assists, 13 digs, six kills and hit .308.  

Rebekah Nemeth had 14 kills and hit .355.  Kathryn Attar had 13 kills and seven digs, while Ellis DeJardin added 10 kills, 11 digs and two block assists. 

Maile Somera had 19 digs and added two aces in the final set to help seal the victory.
