The Bulldogs begin the new year with their biggest test of the 2019-20 season, a two-game set against No. 2 Minnesota. Yale skates with the seven-time national champions at Ridder Arena on Jan. 4 at 5 p.m. and on Jan. 5 at 3 p.m.

BULLDOGS
Yale, coming off its exam and holiday break with a 7-6 overall mark (4-4 ECAC), split its last games on Dec. 6-7. The Elis beat Dartmouth 3-1 after dropping a 4-2 decision to Harvard at Ingalls Rink in New Haven. Eleven different players have scored goals, helping Yale average just under three per game, while all three goalies (2.38 combined GAA) have seen action this season.

MINNESOTA
The Gophers (15-1-3, 9-1-2) are on an 11-game unbeaten streak with four double-digit goal scorers helping them average over four goals per contest. They have a senior goalie getting 96-percent of the action with a 1.40 GAA. Prior to the break, UM beat Harvard at the Country Classic and Minnesota State at the Hall of Fame Classic, both 4-0 decisions.

SERIES
Minnesota has won all seven meetings with Yale in a series dating to 1998. UM won 7-1 and 3-1 last year at New Haven. The last meetings at UM was in November of 2015 with  scores of 6-3 and 4-1.
